A Trip to the Farm

Dave was off last Friday in lieu of Canada Day which he worked. We took the kids to Maplewood Farm in North Vancouver for a family outing. Both of the girls liked the farm... we bought some feed and the girls fed the ducks and the chickens that were roaming around.

Hannah pet lots of animals... goats, sheep, horses and bunnies. She is a real animal lover... she even tried to pet a chicken and it pecked her finger!

Victoria on the other hand is a lot more cautious. She tries to get close to some of the animals but as soon as they move she turns and runs away. One of the horses made a snorting noise and Victoria took off running so fast her legs couldn't keep up and she fell down. The only pictures of Victoria I could really get was one of her running away from a sheep and one of her squatting in front of a fence that had no animals anywhere near it!

Friday night went celebrated Rhonda's birthday at her house... I won't disclose how old Rhonda is ;-) The kids enjoyed the slip n' slide that was there... go figure Victoria will go head first down a slip n' slide but she won't pet a goat. It was a fun evening and the kids were up until we left at 11pm!

Since it was nice and dark out when we got home Dave and I sprayed the BIG wasp nest that we found in the hedge in our front yard. I held the flashlight while Dave sprayed and then we both ran like heck!

Saturday Hannah and Victoria went to a birthday party at the local water park. Happy 4th Birthday Brandon :-) This was the last birthday party for a while... well until Hannah's party at the end of the month anyways.

Saturday afternoon Tanya, Jeff, Tysen and Josh came over and the kids had fun swimming in the pool. We BBQ'd steak for dinner and had fun catching up with them. Dave got Victoria ready for the pool and when she came out we all got a good laugh... she was wearing a regular pull-up diaper and not a swim diaper... check out the size of her booty!!! LOL!!

Speaking of good laughs... last night we took the kids to the park after dinner and Hannah rode her bike there. When we were leaving the park Hannah got going a little too fast down a bit of a hill and she rode her bike off the path and right into some bushes! I know it isn't nice to laugh but it was SO funny :-) She came out of the bushes with leaves stuck in her bike handle bars and in her hair... she was a good sport about it and didn't even cry. Although I think she startled herself pretty good!
