More Summer Fun!

Hi Everyone!
I can't believe that summer is almost over... we have had some great weather the past few days and we have all been trying to enjoy as much of it outside as possible! Yesterday my mom and I took the girls to the water park in Walnut Grove :) Hannah likes to splash around in the puddles but isn't a fan of getting sprayed by the sprinklers. Victoria seemed to have a nice time laying on the blanket while she dicovered how to suck her thumb! That's right I am lucky enough to now have two kids who are thumb suckers!! I tried and tried to get Victoria to take the soother but she has decided otherwise... apparently her thumb is better.

This week Dave has been on afternoon shift so he has been home in the mornings which is a big help when trying to get everyone fed and ready for the day. Last night I packed a lunch and all our beach stuff so we could get out the door early and take the girls to Aldergrove Lake. We met up with our friends Julia and Kevin and their two boys Brandon and Tyler. It was fun, I just wish we could have stayed longer but we had to leave just after lunch so Dave could go to work and I could get home in time to babysit Ava this afternoon. Hannah was a little upset at first because she didn't like the sand all over her feet. She kept coming up to Dave and I and telling us she had 'dirty feet' and trying to wipe the sand off. Once she got splashing around in the lake she got over it quickly. Brandon brought his turtle floaty and let Hannah try it out... we will have to get her one of her own for next time. Victoria got to hang out on the beach and take a nap while Hannah was playing in the lake so it worked out pretty good.

One other bit of exciting news... last night Victoria went to bed around 9:30pm and she slept until 8:30am this morning!! She is 11 weeks today so I am really happy that she is now consistantly sleeping through the night!!

It's Monday Already...

Dave and I went out Saturday night to The Keg for dinner (mmmm they have the best bread!) and ate way too much. Then we went to see The Bourne Ultimatum in the theater afterwards... it was pretty good too. We hadn't been to a movie in quite awhile so it was a nice treat. Hannah and Victoria enjoyed hanging out at home with Buggy and Papa who babysat while we were out. Hannah even got a Happy Meal from McDonald's out of the deal. My mom said she didn't eat much of it which is unlike her.... but I am pretty sure that her last set of molars are coming in right now so that could explain it. According to my mom and dad both girls were good while we were gone so I am glad that Hannah didn't throw one of her famous hour long tantrums!

I have also been working on our slideshow the past couple of days... thanks to everyone who e-mailed me lots of pictures that I didn't have saved on my own computer! I am getting a kick out of looking at some of the pictures from when Hannah was a baby... time sure has flown by!

This week is a busy one for us... I am babysitting Hannah's friend Ava 4 afternoons this week. As much as Hannah adores her little friend there is usually a fair amount of disagreements that end in tears and tantrums on both of their parts :) Victoria thankfully is usually well behaved and enjoys watching the gong show going on around her. But even after all the time outs I have dished out Ava still usually cries when her Daddy shows up to pick her up because she doesn't want to leave. So she must be having fun which makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside even if I feel like a need a long nap afterwards!

Tomorrow I am going to try and get organized early so I can meet up with a friend at Aldergrove Lake in the morning. I think Hannah will enjoy splashing around in the water while Victoria and I lounge somewhere in the shade. Now as relaxing as that may sound I can guarantee you it will be more of me chasing Hannah around while Victoria lounges in the shade! I haven't been to this lake before but it sounds really nice... it is a man made lake that is chlorinated!! No swimmers itch to worry about :) I'll try to take some pictures while we are there to post later.

For now here's a new picture of Miss Victoria asleep in her crib...

The Terrible Two's

Well Hannah has officially become a 'terrible two'! Last night when we were out for dinner with my dad and brother, Hannah had a tantrum in the restaurant. It ended up with Dave and I taking turns sitting out in the car with her while the other finished eating inside. Not an enjoyable way to eat out! She is very strong willed and doesn't like it when she doesn't get her own way. But then who does??? I am left wondering what happenend to that nice little girl... let's hope she outgrows this phase sooner rather than later! She can be almost unbearable some days and other days she is good as can be.

Victoria is sleeping through the night! She has been going to bed at 10pm and waking up at around 5:30am eating and then going back to sleep again until around 8am when Hannah gets up. Yay Victoria! She has been sleeping through the night for over a week and we have now moved her from the bassinet in our bedroom to her crib in her room. She's a pretty happy baby... full of cute little smiles right now :)

My Mom and Dad are coming over tonight to babysit so Dave and I can go to dinner and a movie. It should be a nice break for us and I am really looking forward to it! Thanks Mom and Dad!

Here are some pictures of Victoria in her crib and Hannah playing that I took this morning :) Plus one of Pistol too... I couldn't catch the cats for a photo op so maybe next time :)

Our Trip to Seattle and Tacoma, WA

Dave and I took the girls down to the States for a few days last weekend. We had a great time despite the weather being on and off. On Sunday we drove down and since it was raining we did a bit (OK alot) of shopping. We hit the outlets just outside of Seattle plus a bunch of other stores including Costco (they sell this really yummy Raspberry Lemonade that you can't buy here).

Monday we drove down to Eatonville, WA and spent the day at Northwest Trek Wildlife Park. It was a really great place to visit, I would highly recommend it. We took a narrated tram tour through the 715 acre park and then walked through the trails to see some of the other exhibits.

Monday evening we took the kids to see Shrek the Third in the theater... Hannah is in love with Shrek and was facinated with the big screen. Victoria was interested in the lights and sounds of the movie and she actually sat on my lap and watched most of the movie too.

On Tuesday we went to Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium and the weather was really nice... not too hot not too cold. Hannah really liked watching the shark feeding and Victoria was happy to tag along. She was such a good baby the whole trip especially given all the time she spent in her car seat and in the stroller!

It is nice to be home now :)

Welcome!

Here it is... my blog... a place where I can write about what is new with us and post pictures for you all to see. (Clicking on any picture will allow you to view it in a larger size.)

With so many of our friends and family spread out all over the place I thought it would be nice to create a space where everyone can keep in touch and see what we are up to! For those of you who don't get to see us regularly I promise to post LOTS of pictures so you can watch Hannah and Victoria as they grow up and reach new milestones in their lives :) Plus keep you up to date with what is new with Dave and I as well! Hopefully I won't bore you too much!

So here it goes... keep checking in and leave lots of comments!! I love to hear from everyone :)
