Another 2 Drumrolls Please....

HANNAH PASSED HER SWIMMING LESSONS!

Hannah has completed Preschool Level 2 - 'Sea Urichins' and will be beginning Level 3 - 'Jellyfish' in January. Considering how rough the first few lessons were with Hannah not listening well this is a huge milestone for her! Now if she could only listen better at home...

VICTORIA PASSED HER SWIMMING LESSONS!

Victoria has now completed the Parent and Tot Level 2 - 'Puddle Jumpers' but she has to wait until she is 2 years old before she can begin Level 3 - 'Water Skippers'. Victoria has become very confident in the water just like her big sister!

WAY TO GO HANNAH AND VICTORIA!

Party Day!

Today was 'Party Day' at pre-school :-) Here are a couple videos of Hannah (she's wearing a light pink shirt, jean skirt and Uncle Brad's favourite boots) and her class singing their newest catchy songs, doing the actions and even dancing the Do Si Do! It was SO cute!

I also had to post this picture of Victoria saying 'Cheese!'... she's just too cute when she's not hanging off my legs constantly!

Drumroll Please....

HANNAH PASSED HER ICE SKATING LESSONS!

She was so proud of herself :-) Tanya, Tysen and Joshua came to watch her final lesson today which was so nice. Hannah was so excited to see them there. Hannah got her report card promoting her to Ice Bunnies Level 2 which she will start in January.

This is the list of on ice skills that Hannah had to complete in order to pass...

* Fall safely
* Stand without assistance
* Walking with no assistance
* Walking with marching steps
* Understands basic skating safety
* Intro to gliding - walk to glide
* Walking around obstacles
* Marching on the spot in a circle (both directions)
* Participates in on ice activities with the group

She is really enjoying ice skating... I think I am going to continue to take her to the Parent and Tot public skate during December so she is still able to practice. Hannah really wants Uncle Brad and Kara to go skating with her (hint hint) so maybe we can arrange that during Hannah's off time ;-)

CONGRATULATIONS HANNAH!
WAY TO GO!

Hangin' Tough

Not much really new this week... I am still busy shuttling the kids around to their various activities. Next week is the last week for swimming and skating lessons until January so that will free up my schedule a little bit.

Wednesday Hannah had a dentist appointment and she was really excited about it. Only a small child that has never had a filling would be happy about a dentist appointment! She knew she would get a prize out of the drawer there if she was good and I think that is what was exciting her. I remember be so thrilled to get one of those rings from the dentist as a kid too :-) Hannah was great for Dr. Rai... she let him examine her mouth and then she let Debbie polish her teeth afterwards. Hannah chose a princess tattoo as her prize and Debbie gave her a Belle toothbrush so Hannah was happy. Dr. Rai talked to her about the thumb sucking again... it went in one ear and out the other because by the time we got to the van she was already sucking her thumb! Ugh! What am I going to do with her??

Christy and Jeff are here from California right now and last night we all met over at Rhonda's place for a pot luck dinner. It was fun :-) All the kids had a great time playing and I hope that they didn't trash Rhonda's house too badly! It was great to see Christy and Jeff again... Hannah put on one of Mareesa's white dresses and announced to Christy that she was going to marry her! Victoria is still smitten by Jeff who is the one who fed her her very first cookie last Christmas ;-) Christy and Jeff are off to Whistler tomorrow for a week of playing in the snow... I told them if they get bored or too cold (Jeff is a native Californian... he may be in climate shock!) to come back and see us again.

Today Hannah and Victoria had swimming lessons... both girls did really well. Victoria is so brave and she LOVES going down the slide all by herself! Hannah has really improved in her lessons and the teacher told me that she will be passing into the next level. Shhhhh! Don't tell Hannah she won't find out until next week when she has her last lesson and gets her report card.

Tonight I am off to go and see New Kids on the Block in concert at GM Place! I am so excited... I really wanted to go and see them in concert when I was 12 or 13 years old and I wasn't allowed to go. So here I am 15+ years later living out my dream ;-) Cameras aren't allowed at this concert so I won't be able to take pictures but I think it will be a fun night... there are 8 of us girls going :-)

Our Weekend

Saturday afternoon Dave's work had their Kid's Christmas Party at 8 Rinks in Burnaby. All of the families went ice skating and then had lunch afterwards. Hannah and Dave have both improved on their ice skating skills... Dave didn't fall at all and Hannah was starting to glide on her skates instead of stepping. Normally when we go skating Victoria gets to go on the ice in her stroller which Dave uses to help keep himself balanced but at this particular rink they didn't allow strollers on the ice. So Dave was on his own and he did well... by the end he was able to even turn around rather smoothly :-) Since Victoria's stroller was banned from the ice they let Victoria go out and 'skate' with just her runners on (they didn't have skates small enough to fit her). Victoria really liked it... she was fascinated by all the Christmas lights and she did well at not slipping too much.

Victoria is becoming a little chatterbox and now she is starting to say more words in between all the chatter. Her favourite word is 'Papa'... she already knows how to work it!

Victoria is also starting to play pretend. Usually it is Hannah leading the pretend play but today Dave and I caught Victoria pretending to stir up something in a cup and try and feed her pretend food to Pistol. She would put the spoon up to Pistol's face and tell her to say 'Ahhh'. It was funny!

Beauty and The Beast

Last week I lined up and got 3 tickets for the meet and greet with Beauty and The Beast at Willowbrook Mall. Hannah chose 2 friends to go with her... Rebecca and Brooklynn. I picked Rebecca up and Brooklynn and Kathleen met us at the mall.

Disney Princesses are all the rage for 3 year olds so the girls were pretty excited to get to meet Belle and The Beast :-)

Hannah, Rebecca and Brooklynn all dressed up in princess dresses too... it was fun for them :-) Hannah wore her 'wedding dress' and she told The Beast that she wanted to marry him because he was nice to Belle at the end of the movie. Then she asked him to dance with her... it was so sweet.

Messy Messy...

Tonight while we were eating spaghetti for dinner I was rather impressed with how well Victoria did with using her fork. She must know that I can't handle the messiness :-)

She is alot less messy than Hannah was at the same age.... this was Hannah around that age eating spaghetti.

And yes... I make Victoria eat half naked. She refuses to wear a bib and I don't want all her clothes to get food stains on them. It affects the re-sale value :-P
I still make Hannah wear a bib and she is 3 years old. I know I am totally OCD about the messiness!

Cheese!

Tonight we went to Wal-Mart to have our family Holiday photos taken. Things went well... both of the girls sat nicely and smiled so that was better than last year! But I was really annoyed at how much it cost this year! Wal-Mart has changed their packages so to order the amount of pictures that we needed for family and friends it ended up costing ALOT more than we have paid in the past. So I think I might look into another portrait studio in the future.

When we got home I took a few pictures of the girls in their fancy dresses... Victoria was getting cranky so I wasn't able to really get a nice one of the two of them together. But I guess that's OK since I just got milked at Wal-Mart for a nice one of them... can you tell I'm still bitter about it?!?!

Oh - I forgot to blog about the fact I had all my hair cut off last week! Christy and Rhonda have been asking me to post pictures so I got Dave to take a couple tonight.

Hannah's going on a holiday...

Tonight we took the kids ice skating... Hannah did really good :-) She skated around the whole rink about 5 times and she only fell down about 3 or 4 times. Dave rented some skates and he pushed Victoria in the stroller... the stroller served as an adult walker for him. Dave didn't fall down at all!

When we got home Dave was getting Victoria ready for bed and Hannah was supposed to be tidying up her bedroom while he was busy with Victoria. When he finished with Victoria and went to check on Hannah this is what she was busy doing....

Hannah packed her suitcase with some of her favourite toys and a dress. Hannah has decided she is going on a holiday. She is planning to go to California to visit Christy. So Hannah put a summer dress on over top of her PJ's and she rolled her suitcase up and down the hallway as she was travelling to California. Now she is in bed having a conversation with an imaginary Christy and Rebecca... apparently Rebecca is on a holiday in 'California' with her! It was so cute :-)
