We Are The Champions!

Today was a LONG day! It was the last day of our playoff tournament and our first game today was at 8am. We won that game so that advanced us to the semi-final at 2:30pm. We won the semi-final which put us into the final at 5:30pm :-)

The final was a tough game (the other team wanted to beat us SO badly)... we ended up winning by 1 run! The final score was 9-8 for our team. So we are officially undefeated in regular season and playoffs :-) In total we played 29 games and we won every single one of them!

Tomorrow we get to carry our 2 trophies (one for regular season and one for tournament play) into the church. We all got new shirts and hats too!

Here is the team after the final game....

After the final game I met up with Dave and the kids over at Mandy's house for a BBQ to celebrate her 30th birthday... Happy 30th Mandy!
Then from Mandy's place all went to my Team BBQ at the coach's house. So Dave I ate dinner twice tonight! The kids had fun jumping on the trampoline there and eating way too much ice cream.
I am off to bed... after such a busy day I am just exhausted!

Up to Date...

I am falling behind on my blog again! Here is the last week in a nutshell....

Summer is here... although the weather has been yucky! Lots of cloudy and rainy days... my tan is going to fade away if this keeps up!

Last Friday we went to Choo Choo's for dinner with my parents. The girls really like that restaurant because they can watch the train go around the restaurant. Victoria insisted on wearing her helmet out to dinner... she hasn't been wearing it as much as the last week but she still goes in spurts where she wants to wear it all the time! So Victoria sat in her highchair at Choo Choo's with her helmet on while she ate her pizza :-) Afterwards my Dad walked with them down the road to the van and Victoria was toddling along helmet and all.

Saturday morning we got up early and lined up at Old Navy for the big $2 tank top sale... I bought 15 tank tops! The limit was 5 per customer so I got Hannah and Victoria to line up and pay for some of them :-) And for the record they were not all for me... 2 were for Hannah!

After we left Old Navy we drove up to Chilliwack to spend the day with GG. Dave did a few small jobs for her around her apartment while we were there. GG gave the kids a picnic basket with plastic picnic dishes that she had in her storage room. The kids set up a little pretend picnic in GG's living room :-)

We took GG to Boston Pizza for lunch and the girls had 'Worms in Dirt' (Chocolate pudding with gummy worms) for dessert. Victoria had such a messy face from feeding herself!

We stopped at the duck pond downtown Chilliwack on the way back to GG's place and we all fed the ducks and geese. There were even some baby ducks and geese there and they actually came up pretty close to get the duck food! On the way back to the van Victoria almost got bit in the face by a dog that she walked by... it was really close to getting her! Thankfully I was holding Victoria's hand and when the dog lunged I reacted quickly by yanking her back from the dog. It was still pretty scary and Victoria was a bit shaken up by it.
I am almost caught up now... this brings me to today. Today was Hannah's last day of school... her first year of preschool is officially over. It seemed to go by so fast! Wasn't it just yesterday that she walked to school for the first time???
Her class was supposed to have their family picnic and sports day today at the park but it was raining :( So they had their little picnic in the classroom instead... not as much fun but the kids seemed to have a good time. Hannah gave her teachers each a gift and said goodbye to them. Hannah says she is going to miss Teacher Vanessa because she won't be her teacher next year. She was a bit upset about it this morning... she really loves Teacher Vanessa. Hannah will still have Teacher Kim next year and a new teacher named Teacher Leanne who Teacher Kim has assured Hannah that she is really nice and fun too :-)

After school I took Hannah and Victoria to Wendy's for lunch for a special treat to celebrate that Hannah completed her first year of preschool!

So bring on the sun and all the fun things that come along with summer! Waterslides, trips to the zoo, parks, picnics, BBQ's, pool parties and other fun things we can do outside :-) Plus a couple of summer day camps for Hannah (to give me a little bit of sanity!)

Russell Peters!

Dave and I went on a double date last night with Rhonda and Kal to go see Russell Peters at GM Place. Rhonda and Kal hooked us up with tickets to the suite and we had a fun night. My face was sore from laughing all night long!

It was Dave's first time going to a show in the suite and he really likes Russell Peters so he was really excited about it. He had to get up early for work this morning after only getting about 4 hours sleep but I am sure it was worth it :-)
Rhonda and I are going to see Coldplay on Sunday night... should be another fun evening :-)

Helmet update - Victoria took the helmet off yesterday afternoon and left it off for the rest of the day. I thought that finally the novelty had worn off. Nope! This morning she insisted on wearing the helmet again... here she is going to the potty with the helmet on. I can't wait for this picture to get shown one day when she gets married! LOL

Day 2 of being 2

What is the first thing Victoria did this morning after she got up?

She put on her helmet!

She has been wearing her helmet all day... I made her take it off in order to get dressed because her shirt wouldn't fit over her head with it on and she was upset to take it off!

Here is Victoria eating breakfast with her helmet on!

The only thing she will take the helmet off for willingly is to wear her new puppy dog towel that Tanya made her. Of course Hannah had to get her towel out that Tanya made her when she was 2. Then both of them were running around 'woofing' like dogs :-)
Thanks again for all the great gifts... Victoria is enjoying going through her pile of loot today!

Happy 2nd Birthday Victoria!

Victoria turned 2 today :-) She celebrated with a bunch of friends with a pool party and BBQ in our back yard. Lots of fun and great weather! It was pretty cloudy and the weather was looking a bit questionable in the morning but by the afternoon it was sunny and warm :-)

Victoria asked for a helmet and a hot dog for her birthday... she was so excited to get her helmet and of course Dave BBQ'd hot dogs for the kids. She also got lots of great gifts from all of her family and friends :-) Thanks to all of you who made Victoria's day so special!

I have to say a big THANKS to Tanya once again for making a wonderful birthday cake and cupcakes for Victoria's party! They turned out great and Dave was happy to get the tub of extra icing you gave him to satisfy his sweet tooth.

Also thanks to my Mom, Dad, Brad and Kara for helping with the set up and clean up of the party... with 17 kids running around it definitely helped to have a few extra sets of hands! And Brad did a fine job of taking pictures with my camera for me too.

Victoria had a great time... she was exhausted at bed time from all the excitement but I know she had a fun day. When I asked her if she had a good birthday she had the biggest smile on her face when she said 'YES!'

Here are a bunch of pictures from Victoria's big day....
