HAPPY HALLOWEEN !

Last year for Halloween Hannah dressed up as a Doberman pinscher... this year Hannah and Victoria dressed up as black cats... do you see the trend??? Hannah said she was 'Abby' and Victoria was 'Stallone' :) I guess that makes sense to her because Abby is bigger than Stallone and Hannah is bigger than Victoria. I thought they looked pretty cute in their costumes... Hannah loved getting her face painted and checking herself out in the mirror.

This afternoon the girls had a kid's Halloween party that they went to with their friends. All the kids wore their costumes and everyone brought something to eat to share for lunch. It was fun, but I started to get a cold today and I got really congested and stuffy while we were there :(

When we got home from the party Hannah was SO excited about going out Trick or Treating that she wouldn't take a nap. She is at the age now where she understands what it is all about... this Christmas should be interesting... I hope she isn't one of those kids that gets up at 3 in the morning and wants to open her presents like I was!

I took Hannah & Victoria out Trick or Treating and Dave stayed home to hand out the candy. We just went to the houses in our cul-de-sac which was enough for the girls and enough for me because I am really not feeling that great tonight. Hannah did really great... she wasn't shy at all and she said 'Trick or Treat' and Thank You at each house. Wow her eyes sure lit up when she saw all the candy in her bucket :) Victoria got lots of 'Awww she's so cute' comments and was hamming it up for everyone. We only had one house where Hannah got scared... some guy answered his door dressed up really scary and Hannah took off running back down the driveway! Then the guy took his mask off to show her he was a person and she started to cry... she stopped crying as soon as she saw the candy in his hand though :) Then she grabbed her bucket and said 'Bye Monster!' It was kind of funny.

Hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween!!

Pumpkin Carving

Dave & Hannah carved our pumpkins tonight... well actually we wouldn't let Hannah use the knife so Dave carved and Hannah scooped out the guts. We had pumpkin guts all over the place! I gave Victoria a big spoon to hold and she was banging it on the table as she watched.

We asked Hannah what kind of face she wanted on her pumpkin and she said she wanted a 'happy face' with no nose. Then when we asked her what kind of face she wanted for Victoria's pumpkin she said she wanted a 'high five' pumpkin. She put her hand on the pumpkin and had Dave draw an outline of her hand and then we did the same with Victoria's hand too (after all it was her pumpkin). I think we will be the only house in our neighbourhood with a 'high five' pumpkin :)

The Great Big Boo & My Birthday Party

Tanya invited Hannah, Victoria & I to go to see 'The Great Big Boo' today at the Massey Theatre. She 'claimed' to have some extra tickets but really it was just a big hoax to get me out of the house so Dave could get ready for a little surprise party for my 30th Birthday. I have to be honest here... Dave had been exhibiting some sneaky behaviour for the past week and some of my friends & family are not very good at faking me out. I was definitely aware that something was going on... but it was a good effort on Dave's part to try and pull one over on me :)

Hannah and Victoria got to dress up in their Halloween costumes for the show and they were both pretty well behaved. Hannah was a bit scared at first but then she got into it and really enjoyed the show. Victoria watched most of the show and only fell asleep for about 10 minutes or so. After the show they got to Trick or Treat and collect candy from all the characters. Hannah had her first lollipop... she was thrilled!

After I got home from the show Dave had the house ready for a party. He had gone out and got groceries and even made a fruit salad and some other snacks. Go Dave! He ordered some pizza and even had loot bags for the kids to take home! It was nice to have my friends and family over to celebrate my 30th Birthday. I forgot to get my camera out and take pictures until almost the end... can you believe it?
I got lots of nice cards and gifts... Thank you to everyone for being so thoughtful! Hannah and Victoria gave me a nice matching ring and necklace that Hannah helped pick out herself. Dave gave me 30 red and white roses and a really great new zoom lens for my DSLR camera... I am so excited to try it out!
Thanks again to everyone who was here... I really enjoyed the party :)
~ Tammy
P.S. When I asked Hannah if she knew how old I was, she said I was 'Up the Hill'.... I wonder who told her to say that??? Dave of course!

My teeth hurt :(

I had to get 2 old fillings replaced today. Apparently one of them was much deeper than the x-ray suggested. The dentist had to freeze my mouth twice... and I still felt it every time he drilled! There was a nerve that was exposed and no amount of freezing made it numb. I took some Advil before the freezing wore off and have taken more since... it is helping a bit. But my mouth is so sore :(

On a brighter note... I had molds made of my teeth today for my teeth whitening procedure I am having next week :) I am getting my teeth whitened as a birthday treat to myself!

Victoria's Christening

Today was Victoria's Christening day :) She wore the same dress that her big sister Hannah wore 2 years ago at her Christening. Victoria did really well and she was pretty tired afterwards because she missed her morning nap.

Our friends Tanya and Jeff were Victoria's godparents :) Tysen had the big responsibility of pouring the special water into the baptism font. He did great... not one drop spilled! Way to go Tysen :) After Victoria was baptised the minister passed Victoria's special candle to Hannah which was a nice way to include her in the service. Hannah did well at holding the candle (with help from her Daddy) and she didn't set her hair on fire :) Hannah blew out the candle when they asked her to and people clapped, I think she felt a bit proud of herself. Afterwards Tysen went off to Sunday school and Hannah went off to play with Papa in the nursery for the rest of the church service.

Thanks to everyone who was able to share Victoria's special day with us :)

HAPPY 31st BIRTHDAY DAVE!

Dave turned 31 today... boy is he old! :)

Hannah woke him up this morning singing 'Happy Birthday Daddy' which was cute. Then Hannah and Victoria both crawled into bed and gave him his birthday presents. The new Bon Jovi CD and 2 tickets to the Bon Jovi concert on December 15th. He was pretty surprised :)

Toopy and Binoo

Tonight my Mom took Hannah to the 'Toopy and Binoo' show at Guildford Mall. I had some running around to do so my Mom took her to the show and then I picked her up from my parents place later on.

Hannah seemed to have a good time although my Mom did say she was getting a bit antsy towards the end. She was talking about Toopy and Binoo all the way home....

Victoria the Giant

Victoria had her 4 month check up this morning... she has only gained 12 ounces in the past 2 months, but she has grown over 2 and a half inches! What a giant! The doctor thinks she is going to be tall. She is really long and lean... the complete opposite of Hannah :)

Dave weighed Hannah on our bathroom scale this morning and she weighs 29 pounds now! Most of her friends are over 30 pounds so she is starting to catch up!

We have Mother Goose class tonight... hopefully Hannah will behave herself! Wish us luck :)

Where has the last 4 months gone?

Victoria is 4 months old today! I can't believe it... it seems to go by so much faster the second time around. She is getting really strong now... when you stand her up she can hold her weight for a little while. She is also starting to grab things although her hand eye coordination isn't very good yet. It takes her several tries but eventually she gets her little hands on what she is after.

Total shocker tonight at dinner... Hannah ate carrots, potatoes and steak! For those who don't know, Hannah has been on a total vegetable boycott for some time now. I tossed carrots with a bit of margarine and dill and told her they were 'pickle carrots' (she loves pickles). She gobbled them all up and asked for more! I guess I just have to be a bit more creative with what I call things as it seemed to work :)

Both girls were in bed tonight by 8pm! Dave and I rented a movie (what a treat!)... 'Perfect Stranger' with Bruce Willis and Halle Berry. It was pretty good!

The Apple Barn

We went to The Apple Barn today to pick some pumpkins. It was a great day for it, the weather was so nice!

Apparently it is not a good idea to send your 2 year old into a petting zoo with a handful of goat food... Hannah got swarmed by a bunch of goats that saw her with the food. She was a little upset and we had to cut the petting zoo time short :)

We ran into some friends of ours there and joined them on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. Hannah picked out a big pumpkin for herself and a baby pumpkin for Victoria.
After picking our pumpkins Hannah went on a pony ride. They had 2 ponies and big pony for big kids and a smaller pony for the little kids. Of course Hannah wanted to ride the big pony not the little pony! She looked so small sitting up on the big horse but she held on all by herself!

We ran into some other friends at the picnic area and had some hot dogs with them for lunch. It was pretty busy there today... everyone was taking advantage of the nice weekend weather :)

Victoria was pretty sleepy, I had to recline the stroller for her to take a nap while Hannah played on the playground and ran around. But Victoria did wake up for a short while and we took a couple pictures of her with the pumpkins. She doesn't look too happy in her photos! There were so many cute places there to take pictures but unfortunately Hannah and Victoria weren't in very photogenic moods today :( Maybe next year!
