I went to the Tim McGraw concert last night with a group of girls... lots of fun!

Black cowboy hat, belt buckle and those jeans... oh my! Oh... and he sang pretty good too ;-)

Sleep Over!

On Saturday night we let the girls have a 'sleep over' together in Hannah's bedroom. They have been wanting to do this for a while now and I figured it would give them some practice for when we are in Disneyland and they have to share a bed.

Since Victoria has given up her afternoon nap (I am so sad about this!) she has been going to bed very easily because she is so tired by bedtime. The girls snuggled up together and were both asleep fairly quickly :-)

I am starting to get excited about our trip! Less than a month away now :-) I went through all the kid's spring / summer clothes today so I have an idea of what they still need. The girls still don't know and it has been hard to keep it a surprise!

Good for a Giggle!

Last night I put Hannah's hair in rags at bedtime... of course Victoria wanted her hair put in rags too. Hannah's hair is quite thick now and it turned out nice and curly / wavy this morning. Victoria's hair is pretty wild at the best of times and but this look takes the cake!

I am taking the kids to see Fantastic Mr. Fox this afternoon so I have to find a way to tame Victoria's crazy hair before we leave!

Skytrain, Seabus and Smoke Alarms... Oh My!

I was slacking on my blog because I was spending an enormously embarrassing amount of time watching the Olympics over the past few weeks. Then we were all sick with a cold / cough that is going around. Hannah and I are the toughies in the family and we sucked it up and got on with it. Dave and Victoria... well lets just say they have had a harder time kicking it.

I found this Barbie house with furniture on Craigslist the other day so I drove out to Burnaby to pick it up for the girls. I got it all for $50 which was a great deal and it is in excellent condition. Hannah and Victoria love it and have been playing with it non-stop since I brought it home.

This week is Spring Break and since the kids have no school or activities this week I am anticipating it to be a very LONG week. Especially since it is supposed to rain most of the week.

Today the kids and I went downtown with Buggy for a little adventure. We took the Skytrain and then the Seabus over to Londsdale Quay. We had lunch at East Side Marios at the Quay and the girls were pretty well behaved in the restaurant. It helped that there were two police officers at the table beside us and I told the girls they better be good because the police were watching!

There was a small play area there too and the girls had a blast playing in the ball pit and riding a few kiddie rides.

Hannah and Victoria were pretty good for most of the day. I thought it was funny when they were looking for sharks in the water when we were on the Seabus :-)

Tonight I was sorting some laundry in the laundry room when all of the sudden I smelled smoke and something burning. I rushed into the kitchen in a panic and I discovered that Victoria had pushed a stool up to the counter, put one of her pieces of pretend plastic food into the toaster oven and turned it on!! The plastic was burning and smoking and the smoke detector went off... I think I got in there just in time and thankfully it was only smoke at that point and no fire! Enough to make my heart race and send me into panic mode... and boy did Victoria ever get it after I got the situation under control!!
