Footprints

Hannah and Victoria had their appointment this morning to have molds made of their feet. I was anticipating Hannah to be a bit difficult to get to sit still but she did really well! The lady was really good with kids which helped. It took about 45 seconds for the stuff to harden enough to get the impressions so the lady had Hannah sing a song to distract her and keep her from wiggling around too much. It worked because Hannah's molds came out great the first try :)

Victoria did really good too... I sat with her on my lap (so I couldn't take her picture) and she was pretty still until the mold started to harden. Then she got a bit squirmy. She had to do Victoria's feet twice and the second time the molds came out good.

It will take about 4 - 6 weeks for the casts to be made, painted, framed and put together. I'll post pictures when it is ready :)

Almost There....

Victoria is trying SO hard to crawl... she wants to follow Hannah around so badly! She will be motoring around in no time at all... I'm really going to have my work cut out for me now!

It's Late and I Should Be In Bed NOT Blogging!

It is after 11pm and I really should be sleeping but here I am...

I just wanted to post some pictures I took tonight of the girls... they were being semi-cooperative for picture taking for once :)

I have an appointment on Thursday morning to have some casts made of Hannah and Victoria's feet that are going to be framed in shadow boxes with some photographs. I needed to get a nice picture of the two of them together to include in the framed artwork. This is the picture that I have chosen...

The artist will make molds of each of their feet and then mount them along with the picture and their names etc. I think it will look really nice when it is complete. It will be a few weeks before it is ready and I will definitely take pictures of the project when I get it back.

Go Canucks Go!

We went to the Vancouver Canucks Open Practice this morning at GM Place with Tanya, Jeff, Tysen and Joshua. Tanya got us all tickets from Ticketmaster and they were free! Hannah really likes to watch hockey and she thought it was a 'real' hockey game... we didn't bother to try and explain to her that it was only a practice :)

Everyone got a green foam #1 hand at the door when we got there and Tysen brought his 'puckhead' hat to share with Hannah... even Victoria got in on the action :)

Tysen is an aspiring hockey goalie... as you can see he is a big fan of Luongo.

Dave bought Hannah a cute pink and white Canucks jersey from the gift shop... I won't mention the price because it was totally ridiculous for a kids shirt! Dave's a sucker... but he's right... she did look cute in it. They didn't have baby sizes for Victoria so Dave saved some money there ;)

I also have to mention that while we were at the practice my friend Christy from California sent me a text message that she had her first Craigslist sale today! Christy got me into blogging and now I have returned the favour by getting her into Craigslisting... she is totally hooked! Way to Go Christy!

Happy 1st Birthday Tyler!

Hannah and Victoria were invited to Tyler's 1st Birthday party today :) They had a HUGE bouncy castle with a slide inside it for the older kids to play with... as you can imagine Hannah was right in there having a ball.

Victoria and her little friend Natalie even went inside and bounced around for a bit... I think they were facinated by all the big kids bouncing around them. It was a fun party... all the kids seemed to be having a great time.

I bought a crimping iron the other day and this morning I crimped Hannah's hair for the party. She was so good at sitting still while I used the hot iron on her hair... Aunty Sherry would be so proud ;)

I remembered to bring my camera and take some pictures but of course I forgot to take a picture of the Birthday Boy! Sorry!
HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TYLER!

Sunny Day :)

Yesterday was such a nice sunny day... maybe spring is around the corner after all?? We have all had a bit of a cold the past couple of days so Hannah stayed home from Tot Gym just to be on the safe side. With the weather being so nice Dave and Hannah went outside to take down our Christmas lights... I don't think Hannah was much help but she wanted to hang out with Daddy. She was trying to ride her tricyle around on the driveway but her legs are still just a little too short... one of these days she will reach those pedals and be off!

I forgot to mention last week that Victoria turned 8 months... bad mommy! I took a couple pictures of her to mark her 8 month milestone ;) She is now crawling backwards... but only without pants on! It is funny... I will try and get around to taking a video of her soon!

Baby Shower

I hosted a baby shower this afternoon for my friends Samantha & Baby Elina and Ivana &Baby Liam :) Everyone brought their kids along too so Hannah and Victoria had a ball playing with all their little friends while everyone snacked and met the new babies.

With lots of toddlers running around you can just imagine the chaos... but I think Hannah managed to share her toys relatively well. Although at one point Hannah did cram herself into the Cozy Coupe car on top of a couple of other kids!

And of course I had my camera all ready to take pictures but then I got sidetracked and forgot! Good thing Shelly took some pictures and e-mailed them to me :)

Here are 3 members of the 'second generation' of our baby group... Danielle (with Aunty Lori), Victoria (with me) and Liam (with Mandy). Sorry Elina I have no picture of you... but you were made famous here on the blog when you were born a couple months back :P

Big Thanks to Juia for making the cake for the Baby Shower! It turned out great... I need to learn how to decorate cakes (after I catch up on all my scrapbooking... so it might be a while!)

'Try It' Day

Today was Langley's 'Try It' Day... the Township puts it on to encourage everyone to get active. They had stations set up all over the community center where kids (& adults) could try out different activities that are offered through Parks & Recreation.

Victoria had her swimming lessons this morning so while Victoria and I were in the pool Dave took Hannah to participate in 'Try It' Day.

Hannah had lots of fun... she tried a dance / music class for toddlers and she also tried out the Nintendo Wii that was set up in another room. She did bowling on the Wii... Dave said she actually figured it out and was doing it on her own. Downstairs in the gym they had a variety of sports to try like soccer, basketball, floor hockey etc. Hannah spent over 40 minutes at the dance class because she was having so much fun and by the time she left that class Victoria and I were already out of the pool!

At the pool they had quite a few different things to try like aquafit, schincronized swimming and scuba diving. If I didn't have Victoria with me in the pool I probably would have tried the scuba lesson... it looked kinda fun. If the Township does this again I think I will get someone to watch the kids so I can try a few things too!

Dave took a some pictures of Hannah dancing but they all came out blurry :( But he did also take a couple of little videos of her playing freeze dance and follow the leader. Here you go...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Our two little Valentine's woke up this morning and we gave them each a card and a couple little presents. They were both super excited. Hannah especially liked the Dora 'I Love You' book that I put their own photos into :)

Buggy and Papa gave them some cute oufits for Valentine's Day earlier in the week and I must say I think they both look adorable in them :) They also gave Hannah 'Max' and 'Ruby' dolls which she has been packing around. Victoria got a cute 'Minnie Mouse' doll that she likes to drool all over.

Hannah was really excited yesterday to get a package in the mail from Aunty Sherry in Alberta with some Valentine's stickers and Dora shirts for both girls. Hannah is sporting her new Dora shirt today... I'll bet she will want to sleep in it tonight too!

The girls received lots of little Valentine's cards from all their friends this week... it was cute. An extra special Thank You to Tysen who made Hannah chocolates... she gobbled them all up in record time!
Happy Valentine's Day!

My Mommy Morning

My friend Mandy invited me to join her this morning to a Mom's group at her church. It was really nice :) They had childcare available so I was able to have someone watch Hannah and Victoria while we were there. Hannah went to the 2 year old group and she had lots of fun... she spent the rest of the day talking non stop about how she played with playdoh and had a puppet show :) Victoria went to the baby nursery and got to hang out and make some new little friends too. Mandy's girls Rebecca and Natalie were in Hannah and Victoria's little play groups so they seemed pretty comfortable there. Both girls must have been good because nobody came to get me!

While the kids were off being looked after all the mom's got to have coffee and snacks while chatting. This week it was set up for everyone to make a Valentine's craft. We each made a handmade card and a picture frame. It was fun to get to spend some time with other mom's and relax doing something creative while meeting new people :) Plus I felt a bit 'Martha Stewart-ish' after making my craft...

Thanks for inviting us Mandy! We will definately come again :)

WOW!

Our blog just reached 1000 visits!! Thanks everyone :) But really who are you people reading this?? Only a handfull of you drop us a line! You don't need to have a blogger account to leave a comment... just click on the nickname option and type in your name ;) We like to know who our stalkers are!

This morning was a busy one... I had someone come by at 9:30am and pick up some baby stuff I was flogging on Craigslist (yes... I am still selling away on CL... you should see how much money I have in my little stash!), then I had to take Victoria to the Dr. for 10:30am, after that we ran over to Costco to pick up a few things (yes.. it is possible to only get a 'few' things from Costco!), then it was home to make lunch and get the girls off to their naps. Whew!

For those of you who don't know... Victoria is an extremely pukey baby... you have no idea how much laundry I do! The Dr. had expected her to outgrow this pukey phase by now and since she is still going strong he wanted to see her today. He gave Victoria a prescription for an antacid that will help to control her stomach acid production and in turn help curb the spit up problem. She will be on this medication for 30 days and if she is still spitting up frequently after a month of the medication then she will get a refferal to a specialist to see if there is a problem with the flap on her esophogus. Hopefully this medicine does the trick because I am really getting tired of cleaning up baby puke constantly and of course I don't want her to have an esophogeal problem. Keep your fingers crossed for her :)

I am heading to the States tonight with my friend Mandy for a little bit of cross border retail therapy... without the kids... yippee!

A new little friend for Hannah and Victoria :)
She is beautiful!

Mom's Night Out

Last night I had my 'Mom's Night Out' with some of my friends. We went to Earl's and it was lots of fun :) Any night out with the girls is fun... I would have been just as happy to go to McDonald's. Ok maybe not McDonald's... the Bellini at Earl's was really yummy :) I didn't get home until almost 11pm... what party animals us mom's are ;) LOL

I paid for staying up late though... Victoria cut 2 more teeth yesterday and she was up at the crack of dawn in need of some Tylenol! She is such a good baby... she had some Tylenol and went right back to bed. Thank goodness for that!

So now Victoria has 4 little teeth :) All of them are on the bottom too... she is going to look so silly with no teeth on the top yet! I remember Hannah got her 2 bottom teeth first and then she got her outside incisors on the top before her middle ones... she had fangs like a snake :)

I'm falling behind!

I haven't had much to blog about lately but I thought I better update this blog because I have gotten some complaints. Apparently we really do have fans!?!

Hannah is starting to feel better... her eyes are back to normal but she still has a bit of a runny nose and a cough. Hannah gave it to Dave and he has been on antibiotics since last Thursday. I hope Victoria and I avoid this one!

Victoria is in love... with the Jolly Jumper :) She gets so excited when she sees it! She jumps so high that the spring looks like it is going to come off the hook it is attached to! Her legs are getting really strong from all the jumping and she is starting to try and crawl... she gets up on her knees and kind of rocks back and forth. Then she gets frustrated and gives up... she has discovered that she can wiggle and roll to where she wants to go alot faster :)

Hannah has cabin fever... she has been cooped up in the house too many days this week between being sick and all the snowy weather. When I did take her out to Mother Goose the other night she was running around totally wild. She is well enough to go back to her regular classes this week so hopefully she will burn off some of her pent up energy!

Tomorrow night is my 'Mom's Night Out' with some friends... we are going to Earl's for drinks and snacks... I can't wait! A night of adult conversation without wiping snotty noses or listening to temper tantrums is definately long overdue.
