Happy Canada Day (a day early)!

OK so I am double posting today... Christy would be so proud!

After dinner tonight we took the girls down to the Canada Day celebration across from the Langley airport. This is the first year that we have gone and we had a nice time :) We were originally going to go during the day but we spent the day in the pool instead. It was a good idea to go in the evening instead... it was a little cooler for the kids.

Hannah fell asleep in the van on the way there and had a nap in the stroller while we walked around and looked at all the booths.

After she woke up we bought Hannah a wristband so she could go on the rides since she is a thrill seeker. Hannah was pretty happy that she was allowed to go on the 'big kid' rides as well as the toddler ones.

Victoria was really cute tonight... every time Hannah went on a ride she would wave at her as Hannah was spinning by :) I took a little video of it...

There was going to be a fireworks display but not until after 10pm... we had to miss it because the girls needed to get home to bed. They both had a quick bath to wash all the days sunscreen off and then they both went straight to bed. Both of them were exhausted... lots of excitement all day long.

So now the kids are in bed... Dave and I are going to practice up on the new Wii we just bought the other day :) Wish me luck at beating Dave at bowling this time!

Splish Splash

Our little plastic kiddie pool cracked on Saturday. We finally get some hot summer weather and the kiddie pool splits open! So Dave and I decided to buy a bigger pool for the kids. This way Hannah can actually swim around in it a bit but she can still stand up and touch the bottom. It is about 30 inches deep and 12 feet wide so it is a good sized pool for younger kids. Plus it is big enough that I can get in and cool off too :)

Hannah couldn't wait until we filled it up yesterday... she was waiting anxiously beside the pool. It took 5 hours to fill with 2 hoses going! We still have about another 3 inches that we can fill to make it deeper if we want to.

Last night Hannah was in the pool until almost 9pm! We had our friends Mike and Crystyl over for a BBQ and Hannah was in the pool most of the evening. Victoria was happy... she finally got to use the swing without having Hannah try and take it away :)

Today my friend Mandy and her two girls Rebecca and Natalie came over for a pool date. Rebecca and Hannah were in the pool almost all day long (11am - 3pm!) Mandy and I spent lots of time in and out of the pool too... what a great way to keep cool on a hot day! Dave went out and bought little animal floaties for Victoria and Natalie to use so they could enjoy some cooling off in the pool too.

Hopefully the weather will stay nice for awhile and the kids will get lots of use out of it :)

I caught Hannah and Victoria playing together this morning... nicely! They were playing 'Peek-A-Boo' through the window of Victoria's new doll house. They really do like each other!

Is Summer Here?!?!

The weather is supposed to be HOT HOT HOT this weekend! Yesterday was a beautiful day... sunny and warm. Today was cloudy and it did rain a little this morning BUT tomorrow is supposed to be the start of a little heat wave :) Finally! The weather this spring was awful!

Hannah and Victoria played outside in the backyard for a bit this morning and I took a few pictures...

Katie's Princess Party

Hannah was invited to her friend Katie's 'Princess Party' today. There was a lady dressed up as 'Belle' from Sleeping Beauty and she brought princess dresses for all of the girls to wear. 'Belle' painted their nails and put glitter in their hair and then played games with all the kids.

Hannah has been to several princess parties lately and she is really into the whole princess thing. I was kind of wondering if she was going to try and change her mind on the theme she chose for her upcoming birthday in August and want to have a princess party too. So I asked her today about what she wanted to do for her birthday and she is still excited about having a Shrek party... she loves Shrek. I guess she is more of a leader than a follower :)

Victoria stayed home with Dave while I took Hannah to Katie's party. I think she enjoyed having some one on one time with her Daddy. It's nice for the girls to get to spend some time on their own.

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY KATIE!

Also... I finally got around to downloading a few pictures from the past week while my family was here visiting from Alberta. My cousins Jaden and Logan stayed here at our house while my Aunty Sherry and Uncle Les stayed with my Mom and Dad. Jaden and Logan were great help with looking after Hannah and Victoria while they were here. Aunty Sherry, Jaden and I made a shopping trip down to the States one day which was fun as usual :) Logan gave Dave's XBOX a good workout while he was staying at our place and I took Uncle Les and the kids out to the Go Karts one evening... Hannah rode with Uncle Les in a double car and she liked going really fast! As always is was so nice to spend time with all of them... I miss them lots when they are so far away.

Rebecca's Royal Ball

Hannah and Victoria were invited to attend a 'Royal Ball' to celebrate Rebecca's 3rd Birthday. All the girls dressed up in princess dresses... so cute! Apparently the dress Hannah wore was a popular one because there were 3 girls all wearing the same dress... what's a princess to do??

The girls had a great time and at one point Hannah disappeared from the party. Dave found her upstairs laying in Rebecca's bed reading a book... I guess it was getting close to nap time and she was ready to have a little sleep :)

I forgot to bring my camera with me! Can you believe it?!?! So I bootlegged these pictures of Mandy's facebook page :) Thanks Mandy!

HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY REBECCA!

Oh Yeah - an update on my hand situation... did I mention already that my hand was infected last week and the Dr. prescribed antibiotics? Well this week I discovered why my hand was infected... after all the scabby nastiness cleared up I was able to see that there was a small hole in the middle of the incision with a stitch sticking out! One of the 'dissolvable' stitches inside my hand worked its way up and punctured out through the skin. So I had to go back yet again to the hospital to deal with it. The Dr. froze my hand and then had to open my hand up again to dig the problem stitch out. Let's just say that after the freezing wore off last night I did not sleep well. So back to square one in the healing process... ugh. I have had to go to the hosptial every week for the past 3 weeks so I am going to try and avoid it this week!

Canada's Next Top Model

Victoria got selected to be part of the Fall campaign for Please Mum :) This morning my cousin Jaden and I drove into Vancouver for the photo shoot. Victoria did SO good :) She was hamming it up for the photographer. She wore 2 different outfits from the Fall collection and she is going to be showcased on their website as well as on the walls in the stores across Canada the first week in August.

Jaden took some pictures of Victoria during her modeling gig... I can't wait to see them when they hit the stores!

HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY VICTORIA!

Can you believe a year has gone by already?!?! Today was Victoria's first birthday... she is growing up so fast!

Victoria had a little birthday party this afternoon... she invited some of her and Hannah's little friends and we had a BBQ in the back yard. The weather was perfect for it... I was glad we could all be outside and enjoy it after all the rain we have had lately.

I think Victoria is getting some new teeth... she was not herself today. I think she may have been feeling a bit under the weather or maybe all the commotion of all her birthday guests was making her a bit shy. But she did enjoy herself on her special day :)

Hannah was really excited for Victoria's birthday too... she had lots of fun playing and running around all afternoon with all the kids. They were splashing around in the water table, playing on the swings and chasing each other around the yard.

Hannah chose a 'Care Bears' theme for Victoria's party and Tanya came over on Thursday night and decorated the birthday cake. She did such a great job... it looked and tasted great! Thanks so much Tanya!

All the 'big kids' helped Victoria out opening up all of her gifts which was good because I think we would have been there all night if Victoria had to do it alone :) She got lots of new toys, books and cute outfits. I think that Hannah thinks all the new toys are hers so I am anticipating some arguments in the near future over 'sharing'. Hannah is still working on sharing toys with Victoria... she shares well with kids her own age but I guess because Victoria is smaller than her she thinks she can bully her around.

A big hit with all of the kids was a toy piggy bank with big plastic coins... all the kids were taking turns playing with it and we did manage to find all 10 coins at the end of the party;)

A big Thank You to everyone who came and for all the lovely gifts! Victoria is a very lucky girl :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY VICTORIA!
We love you lots!
