Cindy Lou Who?!?!

I was at the bank the other day and the teller looks at Victoria and says... "She looks just like Cindy Lou Who from The Grinch." I don't know if that is a compliment or not. What do you think?

I don't see a resemblance... but I think the bank teller was referring to Victoria's little pony tail on top of her head. What can I say... Victoria has out of control, hard to manage hair. I am doing the best I can with it. But to say she looks like Cindy Lou Who?? Victoria's hair isn't that bad is it??

Hannah had a dentst appointment today... she went in all by herself for her cleaning. I got to sit in the reception area and read a magazine! I think I want to take her to the dentist more often... it is like free babysitting for half and hour :-)

Good news... Hannah had no cavities :-) She was excited to get her picture taken for the 'No Cavity Club' wall in the dental office. Bad news... Hannah has a referral to see an orthodontist to discuss our options regarding her thumb sucking since Hannah is showing no interest in stopping on her own. I have to call and get her an appointment so I don't know when she will be able to get in with the orthodontist yet.

Not too much else new with us in the last week or so since I blogged last. Hannah and I did some baking last week on one of the rainy days... we made dog cookies, banana bread and a cherry pie. Hannah rolled the pie crust out herself and she did a pretty good job at it. "It's just like play doh!" was what she said.
Victoria has been starting to use the potty a little bit and I don't know who is more excited Hannah or Victoria. Victoria is excited because she peed in the toilet and Hannah is excited because she can try and score a treat for 'encouraging' Victoria to go on the potty.
Victoria is talking lots more now... and she has a great memory! She will tell you about things that happened weeks ago like the squirrel that ate her cookie at the park. Her latest funny phrase is (and I appologise for the graphic language but it is really funny when a 2 year old says it) "Mommy! My pee come out my 'gina'!" Then she wants to phone everyone to tell them... I only let her call my parents since some of you might get weirded out by Victoria talking about her bathroom moments :-)
Hannah and Victoria are really into pants with pockets right now... they like to walk around with their hands in their pockets. They think it is so funny. I think that it's funny that Victoria can't get her hand into her pocket half the time and Hannah has to help her put her hand in so they can play this silly game together :-)

The Boomerang Express

Hannah is going to a summer day camp at our church this week and the theme is the 'Boomerang Express'. The kids travel all over a make believe 'Australia' and do different activities at each 'station' the Boomerang Express takes them to. Really fun for the kids and Hannah is enjoying it :-)

They must have really played hard today because Hannah came home, had lunch and then after I finished cleaning up from lunch it was very quiet in the house. As I headed up stairs to see what Hannah was up to this is what I found....

Hannah was so tired from all the excitement and activity this morning that she was sound asleep on the landing between the flights of stairs. She couldn't even make it to her room!

Hi Jeff!

The kids were up early this morning because they were excited that Jeff was coming to visit us today. The girls know that Jeff = Tim Bits!

We took the Tim Bits to the park and the kids played on the playground. There was lots of static electricity and Jeff was chasing Hannah around zapping her :-)

After the park Jeff took us to Red Robin for lunch on the company (Thanks Precision!) in exchange for our stylin' minivan taxi service. Then it was off to the mall so Hannah could choose a birthday present from Jeff and Christy. Hannah chose a new Polly Pocket set and she has been playing with it all evening :-) Thanks Jeff and Christy - Hannah likes her gift very much!

It was nice to see Jeff again... and Hannah and Victoria adore him. Although Hannah has said that she doesn't like Jeff's 'spikes' on his cheeks... she wants him to shave them off.

Hopefully next time Jeff comes up here for business Christy can join him... the girls love to visit with her too! But they did draw Christy some pictures and Jeff has promised to courier them back to California :-)

ABC's and 123's

Victoria is learning the alphabet... she misses a bunch of the letters but she sure is cute trying :-)

Her ABC's need some work but she can count to 10 :-)

Drive In

We went to the Drive In movie theater last night with the kids... it went well :-) Both Hannah and Victoria sat in the back of the van on their air mattresses and watched 'UP'. It was a cute movie and the kids really liked it.

After 'UP' was over Victoria fell asleep and we put her into her car seat where she slept all through the next movie. Hannah wanted to 'camp' in the back of the van so we let her cuddle up in her blankets while Dave and I watched 'The Proposal' which was also good.

It was a fun night... we didn't get home until 2am! I can't remember the last time I was up that late... I was so tired today.

Here are the girls camped out in the back of the van waiting for the movie to start :-)

Happy Birthday Hannah!

Yesterday was Hannah's 4th birthday :-) She is pretty pumped to be 4 now... she wanted toast with peanut butter for breakfast and it had to be cut into 4 pieces because she's 4 now.

We spent the morning at Aldergrove Lake and the girls had fun swimming and digging in the sand. Hannah found a quarter when she was digging and she was super excited about it.

Buggy and Papa came over later in the afternoon and we took Hannah to Choo Choo's for her birthday dinner. After dinner they sang Happy Birthday to her and she got an ice cream with a candle to blow out :-)

After dinner we all went to see the RCMP Musical Ride. When we got there we lucked out and one of the event organizers gave us seats at one of the VIP tables. So we didn't have to sit in the grand stands and we had our own table right on the side of the ring.

It was a good show... those horses are so well trained to do all of those patterns and maneuvers without bumping into each other! When Victoria saw the Mounties in their red serge coats she said 'Look! It's Superman!' - it was funny. Even today when I showed the girls the pictures Victoria was still talking about Superman riding the horses in a circle :-) Hannah got to meet one of the horses after the show... she gave 'Archie' a carrot and patted him on the nose. Victoria wouldn't go near the horse to pet it... even after she was saying all during the show that she was going to ride Superman's horse after. When it was her turn to meet the horse she just said 'No Thank You, I'm shy.'

Tonight we are taking the kids to see 'UP' at the drive in movie theater... should be an experience. Worst case scenario is if they fool around too much we have to strap them into their car seats all night long... right??
