Summer is here... although the weather has been yucky! Lots of cloudy and rainy days... my tan is going to fade away if this keeps up!
Last Friday we went to Choo Choo's for dinner with my parents. The girls really like that restaurant because they can watch the train go around the restaurant. Victoria insisted on wearing her helmet out to dinner... she hasn't been wearing it as much as the last week but she still goes in spurts where she wants to wear it all the time! So Victoria sat in her highchair at Choo Choo's with her helmet on while she ate her pizza :-) Afterwards my Dad walked with them down the road to the van and Victoria was toddling along helmet and all.
Saturday morning we got up early and lined up at Old Navy for the big $2 tank top sale... I bought 15 tank tops! The limit was 5 per customer so I got Hannah and Victoria to line up and pay for some of them :-) And for the record they were not all for me... 2 were for Hannah!
After we left Old Navy we drove up to Chilliwack to spend the day with GG. Dave did a few small jobs for her around her apartment while we were there. GG gave the kids a picnic basket with plastic picnic dishes that she had in her storage room. The kids set up a little pretend picnic in GG's living room :-)
We took GG to Boston Pizza for lunch and the girls had 'Worms in Dirt' (Chocolate pudding with gummy worms) for dessert. Victoria had such a messy face from feeding herself!
We stopped at the duck pond downtown Chilliwack on the way back to GG's place and we all fed the ducks and geese. There were even some baby ducks and geese there and they actually came up pretty close to get the duck food! On the way back to the van Victoria almost got bit in the face by a dog that she walked by... it was really close to getting her! Thankfully I was holding Victoria's hand and when the dog lunged I reacted quickly by yanking her back from the dog. It was still pretty scary and Victoria was a bit shaken up by it.
I am almost caught up now... this brings me to today. Today was Hannah's last day of school... her first year of preschool is officially over. It seemed to go by so fast! Wasn't it just yesterday that she walked to school for the first time???
Her class was supposed to have their family picnic and sports day today at the park but it was raining :( So they had their little picnic in the classroom instead... not as much fun but the kids seemed to have a good time. Hannah gave her teachers each a gift and said goodbye to them. Hannah says she is going to miss Teacher Vanessa because she won't be her teacher next year. She was a bit upset about it this morning... she really loves Teacher Vanessa. Hannah will still have Teacher Kim next year and a new teacher named Teacher Leanne who Teacher Kim has assured Hannah that she is really nice and fun too :-)
After school I took Hannah and Victoria to Wendy's for lunch for a special treat to celebrate that Hannah completed her first year of preschool!
So bring on the sun and all the fun things that come along with summer! Waterslides, trips to the zoo, parks, picnics, BBQ's, pool parties and other fun things we can do outside :-) Plus a couple of summer day camps for Hannah (to give me a little bit of sanity!)
